Prayer

Pray for... the typical words I internalize when people mention prayer. My mind says, Donna you need to pray more, pray for this or that, and more consistently.

Yet, I stop myself, for my God is not a Santa Claus to whom I submit requests for this or that.

You my God, are my Father, my Brother, my Hubbie, my Guide, my Comforter, my Strength, my Companion… you my God, are my Love.

May I enter the conversation with you, oh God, the conversation of companionship. For my heart far more wants to KNOW you and HEAR you, than to beg for your intervention.

So at what point of this conversation do I pour my heart for the concerns that trouble the world and trouble my heart… I’m learning from our communing, that your heart sees and feels these concerns far deeper than I’ll ever understand. In the communing of my sorrow or fear or pain or anxiety or just being lost… you hear my heart, my being, crying for the needs of me and the needs of the world. You already know all the needs here on earth, yet you love communing with us humans, as open beings, knowing and hearing one another.

As I long to hear and know you my God…

I now understand that you long to hear and know me…

You truly are love…
