My challenge as a widow… I am here!
Maybe it’s just the move that has brought the memories flooding back,
Or maybe I just secretly hope that I’ll wake and the old life will be here.
Maybe if I hold on to all the memories, they will comfort me as if Randy were here,
Or maybe that old marriage will birth in a new.
Yet today… this day… this moment… I AM HERE
With all the past gone, truly in the past.
I AM HERE… in this moment, no hubby to comfort or plan or travel or love,
I am here… in this moment, this is my life.
And from here, what will I choose…
This day I choose to look at this moment, let this reality sink in,
And go forth in my day finding the joy that is set before me.
