What do I do?

Resurrection followed the cross and tomb. But for me on earth, you are no longer here to converse, tangibly share life. What do I do?

Mary weeping in grief at your disappearance… you comfort her with your presence and words.

The disciples hiding, scared in a locked room… you comfort them again with your presence and words.

As me in the aftermath of death, your death upended the lives of those who loved you; they had no direction, I have no direction. What do we do? Your companions fell back on the familiar, fishing. I fall back on my daily routines of cleaning, desk work, errands.

And again you bring comfort with your presence, words, and this time food… a satisfying, filling, yummy breakfast served to the grief weary fishermen.

Follow me; feed my lambs, take care of my sheep, feed my sheep… follow me.

As simple, onerous, as that… all life will reveal from following you.

Spirit help me to follow… feed your lambs, care for your sheep… follow.

  1. I so admire your ability to keep going on this difficult journey.
Your words are so meaningful. You are truly an author and a loving disciple of Christ even during the tough times.

    1. Standing with you during this time. I’m happy you are finding such peace in the Lord. There’s no other one that can give you that kind of love.
