Peace

At death, peace filled my being for two hours. A sweet, calm, accepting, loving, comforting peace… the peace of my God held me as I said goodbye…

Leaving that room, the peace lifted when shock, fear, pain, despair all overwhelmed…

Today… pain of walking alone has returned. The past week has been filled with family and comfort and warmth and love. Again I must walk out of those rooms and back into the pain of walking alone. I cling to the reprieve they give, yet the comfort doesn’t stay with me.

As I sit here in this peaceful forest, watching the hummingbirds at the flowers, and the bugs gliding on the invisible currents, the chirps and stillness, peace reveals… my God is revealed in healing peace.

Breathe in… this peace

absorb… peace into every cell

Breathe out… the cries of anguish

Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Don’t let your heart be troubled or fearful. John 14:27
